and so, I blog. Our IT people here at the Sheriff's Office have taken Facebook, MySpace, Jango, and Pandora off the computers. *grimace*

So tonight I brought in movies, things that I can't/don't have time to watch at home: Rize and The Ring. I have Martyrs on order from Amazon, can't wait till that's released...supposed to be one of the best/worst horror/suspense movies ever made. I've really been digging foreign movies lately, mostly horror/suspense, and mostly of the J-Horror variety.

At home, I DVR'd (is that a word?) Old Boy, Princess Aurora, and One Missed Call over the last week. Haven't watched Old Boy yet, not all of it anyway. Princess Aurora broke my heart, cried like a baby. And One Missed Call I'm keeping for a night when I'm off, and up all by myself. Hopefully it'll scare the bejeesus outta me.

Showbiz this Weekend is talking about Madonna, and egads! the Octo-mom! She's gonna have a reality show now? fucksalt!

Gonna see what's on Adult Swim now.

Being at work, and still being able to watch Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! And getting paid to sit on my ass. Of course, it gets boring after a while. So, I just put in This is Spinal Tap, since I've never seen it before. I've even got some of the deputies in here watching it with me.

Is it a little sad that I've not been on Xanga in almost a year? I'll try to do better. 'Specially if I work many more of these 6p-6a nights.

Hey, I'm hoping to go see Flight of the Conchords in DC next month. *fingers crossed*

George Carlin died yesterday (Sunday). Our beloved Cardinal Glick will no longer be around to shock us, or to make us laugh (even when we really shouldn't laugh, but it's too fucking funny and true not to)! Dave and I saw him in Charlottesville last year, and I gotta tell ya, it could have been 30 years ago. He was brilliant, and dirty, and funny as hell.

Number 1: Big D and I have a bet/wager going on: if I let my hair grow for the next 6 weeks, with no haircuts (not even a trim!), I get $100 to spend on myself. It can be books, or a stand mixer, or Poor baby hasn't seen my hair long since we were dating...and it wasn't long then, by most people's standards...just to my shoulders. But as soon as I pushed out Tori, I started the Mom's haircut regime, and have been going back to that every year. Like, I try to let my hair just grow, but I get so-very-impatient and frustrated and go in to the hair place and tell them, "Just chop it off!". Also, I have this weird thick, wavy hair that doesn't grow in a downward fashion...it kinda grows out, so I look like a big mushroom head comin' your way. Like this:

If I go to the chop-shop and get a haircut, I lose out on the money, PLUS there's an extra little kick. Biz wants some of his more extreme fantasies to come true, and I'll be paying the piper for sure. Let's just say I'll be on the losing END of this deal, if I decide to go for that trim.

The thing is, this isn't about Big D at all, he has always said that he loves my hair really short or long. He just hasn't seen it long in years. And I've been wanting to grow my hair out for a while now. Damn my impatience! Short hair, while I love it, does sometimes become terribly boring. I'd like to be able to put it up in a pretty/sloppy bun, or wear pony-tails and cute barrettes. Very girly-girl, dontchaknow. Plus I've been watching a lot of docs about the 60s and 70s lately, and I'm diggin' on the hippy-dippy long-flowy hair. Sexual freedom and all that...

Number 2: I've been longing to go to school all of a sudden. Yeah, I know...like I have time for that, right? (Not to mention the $$$, ya know?). But I really want to try to do it, even if it's on a very part-time basis. I'm feeling a bit...I dunno...forgotten(?) lately. Or, not stimulated, maybe (and get your damn minds out the gutter...I'm talking the other kinds of stimulation, bitches!). If I could explain it any better, I would.

<Jeezy-Kreezy! Remind me not to send in writing samples to prospective schools...they'd take one look at this entry and laugh my ass out of the office!>

Number 3: The new season of Weeds starts Monday the 16th! Which just so happens to be Ashlyn's birthday (and my dad's birthday). We may have to have our cake around the TV, huh?

Number 4: I've been going back in time, and trying to remember all the songs I used to groove on in high school and college. If you have any ideas, send them my way. I'm lurving this one again:

Nope, not been keeping up the ol' blog. I have no excuse, really, except that I've just been fighting off this sort of mild depression lately. But fighting is the operative word...I'm trying not to get too far down in the doldrums. If you catch any Eeyore bullshit coming from me, just give me a swift kick, wouldja?

Today was Dave's first day back to work after a week's vacation, and boy...I gotta tell ya: I really miss him. The past week was a lot of fun. We took a mini-vacay to Virginia Beach (really Fort Story, VA), where we stayed at the Cape Henry Inn. If you know anything about us, you'll know that a mini-vacation (like, really mini: 3 days) is enough for us. It was just miserably hot (record-high temps, I believe), plus old Aunt Flow came around for a visit...about a week early! God, I hate that bleeding bitch!

So, we came home to our Internet, our WoW (Level 70 Ice Mage, Bitches), our kittens, and our lovely Valley views. It's nice to be home.
